Our Heritage The company was founded in 1932 by a joiner and cabinetmaker, John Stoddart, at a time when industry and commerce was in depression. However, John Stoddart was optimistic and resolute in his determination to provide a valuable service to the community. The Present The dignity and traditions on which John Stoddart founded his company have been passed on through the years to the fourth generation of the Stoddart family, Keith Stoddart and long time family friend and funeral director Alex Dolan. We are pleased to be of service at times of bereavement, 24 hours a day, and to offer advice and guidance on funeral planning at any time. The funeral director can give you a full list of what they can supply. They are likely to charge for these additional products and services, so you may choose to take care of some arrangements without their involvement, or you can use a different supplier.
1. This fee (which is sometimes called the interment fee) is the charge made for digging and closing a new grave, or for reopening and closing an existing grave.
2. In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, you will usually need to pay doctors’ fees as well. This is the charge for two doctors to sign the Medical Certificates for Cremation.
