Head & Wheble, Independent Funeral Directors in Bournemouth & Poole, were founded in the early part of the 20th century with the aim of advising friends, relatives and associates at a difficult and emotional time, and helping them give their loved ones a dignified and appropriate funeral. From these early beginnings, the family business grew year after year as families, helped by the partners, recommended their service to others. Our founder, George Head, established his Funeral Service in 1926 at 1a Oxford Road, Lansdowne, Bournemouth where the present generations continue to this day. In 1943, George Head formed a partnership with another existing Funeral Director, Charles Wheble. Both partners, supported by their wives, were leading lights in their respective churches. We are long standing active members of The National Association of Funeral Directors and also hold membership of The National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors and the British Institute of Funeral Directors.
