We are a genuine family run Independent Funeral Directors based in Cottingham, East Riding. David Kemp is the managing Director and is the fourth generation of the Kemp family to run the business, along with his wife, Fiona and with the assistance of his Mum, Eileen.
At H Kemp and Son Limited we pride ourselves in providing our customers with personal attention at all times to guide them through what can be a very difficult process. We are always on hand to assist, and with over 130 years experience serving our community, you can be safe in the knowledge that help is at hand. When a loved one passes away, you need to be reassured that there is someone who is open and honest to turn to who can guide you through what needs to be done straight away and then helps you organise the necessary funeral arrangements. Our aim is to make this difficult time easier for you and your family and help you provide a fitting tribute to your loved one. David Kemp and Ian Swift are both qualified Funeral Directors and hold the Certificate in Funeral Practice awarded by the Independent Funeral Directors College.

The funeral director can give you a full list of what they can supply. They are likely to charge for these additional products and services, so you may choose to take care of some arrangements without their involvement, or you can use a different supplier.
1. This fee (which is sometimes called the interment fee) is the charge made for digging and closing a new grave, or for reopening and closing an existing grave.
2. In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, you will usually need to pay doctors’ fees as well. This is the charge for two doctors to sign the Medical Certificates for Cremation.
