Earl & Co Funeral Directors was founded in 1898 as a general builders and undertakers by C Earl with partners T Pullen and A Newton. By the 1930s Mr Earl and Mr Newton had passed away leaving sole ownership to Mr T Pullen. After WWII, the building side of the company took over as the sole business and gained a respectable reputation, with local roads named after the company, like Earls Avenue and Earlsworth Road. In 1983, Don Pullen, son of the founder restarted the funeral business which proved very successful. Don’s sons David and Michael are still actively involved with the business today, from the original site on Albemarle Road. We provide funerals for people from Ashford, Wye, Smeeth, Mersham, Kingsnorth and surround areas. The team at our Ashford funeral home will provide advice at every stage of the funeral planning process, and will arrange an individual and unique funeral to help you celebrate the life of your loved one. Here at Earl & Co Funeral Directors we also offer an affordable prepaid funeral plan, Choice, so that you can arrange and pay for a funeral in advance. This will protect your family from rising costs and remove uncertainty about your wishes. The funeral director can give you a full list of what they can supply. They are likely to charge for these additional products and services, so you may choose to take care of some arrangements without their involvement, or you can use a different supplier.
1. This fee (which is sometimes called the interment fee) is the charge made for digging and closing a new grave, or for reopening and closing an existing grave.
2. In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, you will usually need to pay doctors’ fees as well. This is the charge for two doctors to sign the Medical Certificates for Cremation.
